In order to encourage talented members of minority groups to pursue careers in Classics or Archaeology the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) administers a summer scholarship program for promising minority undergraduates majoring in the study of classical languages and cultures.

The Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering. The Amelia Earhart Fellowship program helps talented women, pursuing advanced studies in the typically male-dominated fields of aerospace-related sciences and engineering, achieve their educational goals.

The GPS program will enable this distinctive and integral NYU experience to be made available to students who otherwise might have been precluded because of financial constraints.
